Industrial and agricultural vehicle engines constantly gain in complexity as the world’s microelectronics technologies advance. With more devices trying to communicate within as well as from vehicles, the potential for electronic interference, or noise, is also far more likely. In the wire harness market, this has always been dealt with by the addition of metal braid overwraps to keep signals from crossing with each other. Full metal wire harnesses, together with their shielded connectors, are an added expense in both materials and man hours. EYT has developed a new braid yarn that maintains the ease and flexibility of a polymer harness yarn with the shielding abilities of a metal braid jacket. The goal of this new product is to maintain the shielding protection needed with a lighter, more easy to install braid yarn product.
